Stop waiting

My goal for this week of being optimistic is already been pretty hard.. Rough day at work.
so this here quote is keeping me going today! I'm really going to have to be a bit stronger, and these past few days I have needed the Lord more than usual..

I am so blessed to have such an amazing guy. My amazing husband. He may not understand my craziness and all of my hormones but he is so good to me. I couldn't ask for a better man to spend the rest of my life with. When I have a bad day at work, I can call him crying about whatever has upset me and he will just comfort me. And I walk through the door and dinner is made, he has put the clothes away, and lets me sit on the couch and watch the proposal. He's adorable. I love him.

Want something good to read? :) or just want to look at some of our wedding pictures? My wedding is being featured here.

I Am A MAN

Okay. No, I am not a man. But this week in my ethics and values class (which I thought I really wouldn't like) we learned something that I believe literally has changed my life.

If you have taken that class then you know that you pretty much have to set aside what ever religion you practice and open your mind.

Earlier this week we started learning about different values, and morality. We started learning about Immanuel Kant's Categorical Imperatives. **this is not a school lesson :)**

The second formulations is what really struck me and has been on my mind ever since.

"Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never merely as a means to an end, but always at the same time as an end."

I know. It kind of just seems like a bunch of words scrambled together, but the just of it is, Every personal has value. Don't treat them like they are ending.

It just so happened I learned that the day the lady at the pharmacy didn't have my prescription ready, the car on my way home didn't speed up when the light turned yellow so we had to sit at the red light, and the day a co-worker made me upset.

My teacher told us the story of why Martin Luther King Jr. was in Memphis on April 4, 1968. There was a Labor strike going on. Did these men want more pay? Did they want more hours? Benefits? No! They were wearing these signs.

Not going to lie... I choked up.

I know that this was a time where there was NO EQUALITY AT ALL!!!!!

but it still breaks my heart.

It started to make me think. These men wanted to be treated like all of the rest of the men. They didn't want to be look at differently because they had a different skin color.

They wanted to be treated like a person. Who is valued.

And when I went to the pharmacy, when the lady didn't have my prescription, I gave her a smile and said I would wait. It wasn't her fault (maybe I don't know) but I wasn't going to treat her like she was anything less than a person.

The person who didn't speed up at the yellow light. Yeah, probably was against the law, but instead of my road rage kicking it, I turned up the music and sang instead.

When my Co-worker upset me, I just let it go.

because. Every person has value. Treat them like it.
