A letter to me.

Inspiration from Elizabeth.

Dear Momma,

Welcome to motherhood! Is it crazy that all of this stuff comes pretty naturally?? Yeah, there is a lot of stuff that you will do automatically. One thing you need to do more than anything is soak up all of those little itty bitty baby snuggles. She will not stay that small for very much longer. Don't worry about what anyone else says about her becoming too clingy if you snuggle her too much, that does not apply to this tiny newborn.

Speaking of peoples advice. Don't worry about what every one says. This is your baby. You are her mom. You know what is best for her and you know where to go for advice and answers to your questions.

When it comes to breastfeeding, don't stress. Yes, no one told you that it wasn't going to be easy, and that it wouldn't hurt but stick with it. Bree does go through a growth spurt and you'll think you're done, but don't give up. When all that pain comes from this new experience, don't get down. When you walk around feeding this sweet angel just remember that all of it is for her!

Realize that you have such a good sleeper on your hands. Try to nap when you can. Its okay that the laundry needs to be done, the dishes need to be washed, and you need to shower and brush your teeth. That can all happen later. Try to nap at least a little bit.

I'll tell you now that you can tape Bree's socks on. That little kicker will kick off those socks, but get the tape and tape 'em on! Fool Proof!

When you decide to go out, try to make sure that you've got a happy baby. If she's been upset most the day and its not a necessity, try to stay home. Those people are Target weren't staring because you were trying to calm down the unconsolable baby, they were looking because they are moms that have been in your shoes. It is okay to have your breakdown in the parking lot. Just hold your baby tight when you get home.
You are a good mom. There are nights when you wonder what you got yourself into but then Bree will fall asleep on your chest and snuggle up to you and it will make it all worth it. But just wait! When she starts to smile, it gets better. And then her giggles!

You have the most beautiful baby ever. We're kind of bias, but really!

And guess what? You have the most adorable husband ever! He is completely smitten by her! It is the best thing ever to watch him play with her. He will walk around the house with her on his shoulders, try everything he can to make her laugh, and smother her with kisses. Make sure you thank him for being the greatest dad ever, because he is. He loves that little girl more than anything in the world.

Sky. She doesn't know what to think of the tiny human at first, but she will warm up to her. Some times she will get a little annoyed by her, but she loves her. She will kiss her toes and try to make her happy when she's crying.

Bree's bald spot on the back will grow in, she will start to chunk up, her lactose intolerance will clear up, she grows so much, and is the biggest light in your life.

Motherhood is hard. It is a full time job. But it is the greatest blessing your life, you already know that though. Kiss those cheeks, smell that hair, snuggle her, she is all yours.

Mom, you can do it. You can power through because you are so blessed to have this little girl in your life. You have such an amazing little family. Remember to thank Heavenly Father every day, because these are the best moments of your life.

Love,

A little more experienced version of yourself.
