One year ago...

I'm writing two posts today.
Why?
Well.... I was reminding Jake last night that we got engaged a year ago today... at the same time reminding myself.

So in honor of one year from the day I got my cavities filled.. and got a beautiful diamond ring from a super cute guy in the same day I wanted to do something special.

If you would like to read, this is Our Love Story

Planning our wedding was seriously the best experience ever! If I could go back...nah. Never mind. The waiting to be married was the worst part! haha.

Everything fell perfectly into place. If I could change one thing, I would go back and take more pictures at the temple. It started to rain as we came out, so I don't have any pictures with my parents, and my inlaws. We have a big group picture and pictures where we were standing in line. So I would change that!

But really our wedding was PERFECT! My amazing friends, family, mama and mother in law made everything come together perfectly. Because it rained when we came out of the temple, Jake and I, and our amazing photographer Courtney. She did our engagements, and our wedding photos. When we got back from taking pictures.. it was like magic. Everything was exactly like I had planned it all in my head! :)

Planning the wedding was fun. I would sit at my apartment with my roommates and make my centerpieces, I made my veil, and had some fun and made a quilt with my roommate Chelsea.

I loved our wedding. I love our marriage even more. I am more and more grateful for this boy every day.

  1. I love that quote that's been going around, "I want a marriage more beautiful than my wedding." And when I look at you guys & even read your love story, that is what I see. You were a stunning bride & congrats on the 1 year engagement. It's so nuts how fast time flies, and kind of sad...in a way!

    1. Haha, oh goodness... so he was flying out of town the next day to interview for graduate school and said he was super nervous so we went on a drive. He drove while I'd ask him interview questions. We ended up driving up Provo Canyon to his favorite mountain biking trail, but as we pulled into the park, there were candles all over in the snow. He started slowing down and I freaked out because I thought someone was probably proposing to their girlfriend. There was no question in my mind that it could have been for me. We weren't planning on getting engaged for a month or two. Anyway, he parked and asked me to get out of the car. Being the stinker I am, I refused because I was wearing Toms and didn't want to get them wet. :) Anyway, he eventually got me out of the car and we started walking towards the candles. It then dawned on me that "Oh! This is probably something for Valentine's Day." We walked down a little path of candles that led to a circle of candles. He ended up playing and singing me a song on his guitar before kneeling down and asking me to marry him. I thought he was kidding at first, but luckily for me, it was real. :)

      That's pretty much it, haha.
