I never thought blogging would....

So I've looked around at a few blogs, and I guess us bloggers really run out of ideas come fall time, that there are tons of list's I've seen with blog post ideas.

So I'm just hopping on with a few of the fun topics I have seen floating around.

When I started blogging I wrote about Jake and I's honeymoon, our weeding, things we were doing at home, all the kinds of stuff I knew my family would want to know since I had moved away from them. My sister then started showing me different blogs to read which lead me to other blogs and so on. I became intrigued that there were all these people who were blogging about their lives and there were hundreds of people who were reading about it!

So I decided to try to put my blog out there a little more. No, we don't do anything amazing like travel, I don't make amazing crafts or food but I figured that maybe this would help me venture a little more in my life and force myself to take risks. It did for sure. And then I got caught up in the popularity part of the blogging world. I wanted to have 10,000 followers with 50,000 page views everyday and 500 comments on each post with people pinning my posts on Pinterest. I wanted people to be out with their friends and say, "do you read Hansen love?! Isn't she great!?"

I really was ridiculous!!

About the time we bought and moved into our new house I had gotten over myself. I spent a lot of time stewing over if people were going to be interested in my posts, or if people even knew who I was. I had way too many other things on my mind that I didn't have time to think about that. I had gotten over the fact that I couldn't just pick up my camera and have amazing pictures without practice. I got it into my head that I didn't need to be making money off my blog for it to be great. It was great because it was something that I like to do.

And even better I realized that I had made some great friends through blogging. I could email these people about any question and they would answer me as a friend. In turn I would get emails back asking for my advice or my opinion on something. I never thought blogging would bring me to a place where I had made so many friends, but also learned so much. About life, people, myself! I have heard stories about most bloggers who have gone through what I have. Where you want to have the blogger fame. But once you become grounded again, blogging turns back to what it started as, fun!

That is what blogging is for me currently. I don't feel pressured to have a post scheduled, I just do it on my own time and I write a post when I feel like I have something to say. Even if it mostly is about this baby girl!

But I want to thank those people who still read my blog! You are wonderful people

  1. I agree. It's super hard to not be focused on followers, money etc. Keep posting! I love reading about you two! Also- taylor says we need to go shooting soon. :)
