A letter to my 16 year old self

Dear 16 year old me,

Yay you can drive, date, and go to dances now! It is so exciting. Just remember how important friends are. Boys are cute, but they are trouble for now. Don't steady date. I know that you think you're in love but that relationship only will bring you heart ache and hurt. He will end up hurting you and causing a lot of problems. You will be better off without him. You will meet a guy that makes you smile every day. He won't make you cry. You will be pretty mature for your age, and it will be a bit of a struggle with some people.

Stay close to the friends that are important to you. They will help you become the person that you want to be. You will get your 100 scripture masteries, your Young Women's Medallion, and you will graduate from Seminary. Remember that the Lord and the church come first. They will be the things that will help you through your life. And when you grow up, it will be the thing you rely on most for every up and down.

In the winter, watch where you are going. Everything has ice on it this time of year. When you get hit in the parking lot on mom's birthday, get her insurance information! Dad would really like that! But mom will still love the gift you get her.

Don't snap at Marina and Liz. I know that they are annoying little sisters, but believe it or not they will become two of your best friends! Crazy to think, I know! They are so funny and they will make you laugh any time you need one. They will stick by you through all the break ups and heart ache. They will listen to your problems and rub your back while you cry. They will hold your hand when dad and mom get mad. They will look up to you. You need to be an example to them so they have the desire to be active in the church. The best part is, they love your husband.

Yep. you get married in the temple! For a second you will think that's not where you want to get married, but it is so worth it. You will become infatuated with the beauty of all of God's houses. You will go to many of them, and feel such an amazing spirit every time you go.

Just remember who you are (yes, the saying Cindy Bear always joked about) When life gets tough just remember to get down on your knees and pray, Shake it off, and hang out with the family. Boys are not that important. It all happens when it's supposed to. Just enjoy and love your life.

Selfish Valentine

So I have been thinking lately. Everyone on their blogs (including me) are always talking about how they love everyone. And then every now and then comment on something that they need to do better.

I personally think that each one of us ladies need to take a little time out to think about ourselves. Think how special of a person we are. How much we do, and how great we are!

Don't get me wrong, My husband, family, inlaws, and dog are the best ever!

But today is my list of 5 things I love about myself. (this was hard to do folks)

+ My hair. Everything about it, the length the color. I love it.
+ My soft hands. Thank goodness I got my mama's hands, they are super incredibly soft!
+ My ability to cook. After watching and helping both my mom and dad cook growing up, I'm glad that I can whip something simple up when I get home from work, and have Jake really impressed!
+ I like the way I sing, most the time. After being in choirs for so long, I have learned to love my voice. I am no Martina McBride, but I like to sing.
+ My ability to make friends. I love that I can make friends anywhere and with anyone. I love being around new people, and making them smile!

     1- OOOK. really if you know me then you would know the #1 place I really really really really... really really really really want to go is PARIS!!!

I really really want to see it. So pretty!

2- If you read from the very beginning of my blog, then you would know that my husband, Mr. Jake went on his mission in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico. I know. Don't ask me how to say it :) It's a mouthful! but just the way that Jake has described it I have really wanted to go!

3- In high school I took a college class, Myths and Folk Tales. I really want to go to Rome now! That would be super awesome.

4- I love going to the Manti Temple. 

It is my favorite Temple, and it makes me feel at home :)

5- I am so excited to go to this castle this spring for the first time!! WHOOOOOO!!!!

6- My most favorite place is in his arms! :)

6. I absolutely hate fish. The smell, the taste, the texture.
7. I love actions movies.
8. I am envious of people that have a plan for their lives. I am shaky about what I want to do.
9. Working at a bank, I get scared every day that I'm going to get robbed.
10. I love blogging more than I probably should!


THAT IS A LITTLE ABOUT ME! It was kind of hard for me to think about everything about me. haha but I did it. I hope I see some of these pop up through out the day. It's fun and actually doesn't take very long!

10 day YOU challenge

Sooooo.... I got way behind on this. My new friend Janae, sent me an email about this a while ago, and it started January 20th.. but stuff got crazy. So here I am, day 10 cramming this all into one! I'll do 5 now and the rest later today! Whoo!

If you know me, then you know that I absolutely love music more than anything! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Jake sings this to me all the time. :) I love it.

This one is a hard one.

1-

I watch this movie if I am having a bad day, or if I'm  upset  or sad. Don't ask me why, but it makes me feel better for some reason.



2-

I, for some reason, thoroughly enjoy a good 80's movie. Especially this one! I love dancing and wish I could dance like this. With Patrick Swayze :) :) :)

3-

If you know who this is, we can be friends. Growing up I have seen ever James Bond movie ever made. This is the first James Bond. Watching these movies reminds me of my brother and my dad :)

4. Books.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE TO READ!!! :) 

1. When Jake and I were dating, his mom gave me this series to read. I was hooked. I would pretend to be sick and lay in bed all day reading :) 

2. This is another Vampire series. The House of Night. I bought the whole series in high school and read them all. I would stay up late at night reading these because they were so intense. Like until 3 in the morning!!!

3. My mother-in-law recommends the best books. She read this book while we were at Lake Powell last year, and right when she was done she had me read it. Guys, if you loved hunger games, YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK! It's sooo good!

4. I read this book in middle school, and it's still my favorite!!!!! It is sooo very good! :) 

5. Foods.

Oh don't even get me started! :) I love food more than anything!!! *except Jake.
